Ways to increase your book smarts without being at school:
- Download a flash card deck of SAT vocabulary words and learn them all. Improve your vocabulary and be able to understand more complex sentences.
- Read non-fiction books on topics that interest you. Fiction is extremely beneficial for children, but as adults, being able to easily engage in fact-based text is more helpful when it comes to building brain power. You can still read fiction too if you’d like 😌
- Take grammar tests and learn from your mistakes
- Learn foreign languages
- Learn to play instruments
- Start playing chess, sudoku, and doing crosswords
- Watch trivia shows like jeopardy and who wants to be a millionaire
- Play math games
- Watch critically acclaimed films and then watch video essays that deconstruct them so you can have a deeper understanding and more perspectives on the film
- Take free online classes on anything and everything that interests you. Coursera, Udemy, and edX have so many amazing courses to choose from and you can even get a certificate if you’d like.
- Watch history documentaries
- Read financial blogs and magazines

What does it take to teach a bee to use tools? A little time, a good teacher and an enticing incentive. Read more here: http://to.pbs.org/2mpRUAz

“Friend? Friend push ball? I push ball. I do good.”
Bees. Smart enough to push a ball, not smart enough to not be fooled by a stick masquerading as a bee.
maybe they know and they’re just being polite
Other dimensional beings are undoubtedly amazed at what human beings will accept as human beings too. “But it’s just a stick with a person on it.”
#excuse me neil but what the FUCK was that #thanks for that terrifying thought (nooby-banana)
NEIL WHY. WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT.
This turns up on my dashboard. And I read it and am impressed that someone writes exactly the post that I’d write, without actually reading the name of the person who posted it.
And then I’m puzzled at all the Neil Why’s, and realise that this was me in the Wayback Long-ago.
At least I’m consistent.
And, I should point out, we are no closer to being able to spot the extra-dimensional stick “people” who move unobserved among us.

pissy little cracker I hope you die in a fire or whatever
Still kind of creepy. Also would have been much more effective if you’d ended it with “fire”. The “or whatever” just makes it look like you aren’t certain.
